‘You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone’ (Ephesians 2:19-20)

While the term 'church' is not explicitly used in the Old Testament, the concept of a gathered community devoted to God is deeply embedded in its teachings, and in the New Testament we find Jesus and the apostles expanding on this theme.

These five studies look at our relationship with God as Father, Son, and Spirit, and with each other, as members of the community of our local, and the worldwide, church. Included is a study on the purpose and mission of the church, and how important it is to reach out to others, sharing God's love, truth and message.

There is plenty of material to stimulate discussion, and as a bonus we look at a few surviving churches from the early centuries where worship still takes place, and end each study with a prayer from those times.

 

 

The study  is formatted such that each individual study can be printed off on 2 double-sided sheets of A4 for distribution to a group, or distributed by email. If you're using it with more than one group, it would be appreciated if you could consider purchasing one study per group!
