Liturgy - Testimony

“I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us.”
(Isaiah 63)

Loving Father, we stand here today as testimony to all that you are
and all that you mean to us. We stand here today as witnesses in this place
to the grace, mercy and love shown to each one of us.
We stand here today as children of a heavenly Father, accepted and loved.

We worship you
All: We lift our hearts to you in praise
We adore you
All: We lift our hands to you in praise
We proclaim your name
All: Within these walls and in our lives, day by day.

Standing in God’s house, in His presence, with His people and sharing in worship together reminds us of that necessary act of confession

Sometimes, Lord it’s difficult to find the words of repentance
Not all of us are poets well versed in public speaking
Not all of us are confident when conversing with Higher Authorities
Sometimes, Lord the longest prayer we can utter is a single word
Not very eloquent
No Booker prize winner
but full of emotion and full of meaning
Sometimes, Lord all we can say is ‘Sorry’

ALL: Our God is a loving God, and forgives those who come to him in humility.

Thank you Father that you hear the cry of our hearts and not only forgive but forget. Thank you Father for a love that is beyond our understanding.

I will extol the Lord at all times
All: his praise will be always on my lips

Glorify the Lord with me
All: Let us exalt his name together
I sought the Lord and he answered me
All: He delivered me from all my fears
Taste and see that the Lord is good
All: Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him
(Psalm 34)

Father God, when we consider our lives and the compare them
to the depth of your love shown to the whole of mankind, we stand in awe.
We have this Good News to proclaim
not just within the walls of this building but in the world outside.
Good News of God’s saving grace; Good News of release from fear
Good News of forgiveness from sin; Good News of wholeness of life
Good News of eternal life for all who truly believe.

At that time you will say,
“Our LORD, we are thankful, and we worship only you.
We will tell the nations how glorious you are and what you have done. Because of your wonderful deeds we will sing your praises everywhere on earth.”
(Is 12:4,5)

This is our testimony
All: That God’s saving grace is for all mankind

Let's join together in the words of the Lord's prayer
All: Our Father

We thank you that through the sacrificial offering of your Son, Jesus Christ
you have drawn us back into your family; sons and daughters together
of one heavenly Father.
All: Through your Holy Spirit empower us to share this Good News with others.
